About

Paca Talk is a Podcast for alpaca people produced by Charles and Maren Anderson of Evergreen Terrace Farms in Monmouth, Oregon. We began the ranch with three pregnant dams and one male cria in 2004 and now have a dozen or so alpacas. We also have 7 cats, 5 chickens, 2 cockatiels, and one greyhound.

Charles is a computer programmer and former college professor.  He works from home, on the farm, over the Internet, which provides plenty of time to watch the alpacas from his window or from downstairs during breaks.  Although he grew up “in town” and even (in his younger days) mocked yokels who live in the country, he cannot imagine returning to the craziness of the San Francisco Bay Area again.

Maren Anderson and El Barto

I, Maren, teach Literature and Writing at Western Oregon University. Many of my classes are online and podcasted, and I have many blogs and writing projects going on at once. I have always been a critter person, so it surprises none of my friends that I have ended up on a ranch of some sort. I spin, knit and otherwise do all the fiber prep on the ranch.

We had a new addition to the clan; our daughter, Colleen, was born Thanksgiving weekend 2007. She has her own blog, naturally.
